TDK is far and away my most anticipated movie of the summer. Dude, it's gonna rule the school for sure. I like this poster. I would have to say that I grew up on Gordon and NWA wrestling and while I prefer Lance Russell out of the Mid South region that's just a personal choice and I doubt that many people would refute the claim that Gordon is the G.O.A.T So what I did here was take a little bit of him explaining the ins and outs of a battle royal and mixed it with a little bit of music. It gets hypnotic after a bit. You might have heard this before because I'm pretty sure that I've included it in an episode of ISR Radio from the past but if you have or haven't I think it bears a second listen. ...

<itunes:author>Ben Lid</itunes:author><itunes:subtitle>Gordon Solie Battle Royal: Retro Remix</itunes:subtitle><itunes:summary>This week we take a very brief look at wrestling announcer Gordon Solie and his call of a battle royal. I guess this right here, this is his moment and if he comes back again in the future THAT would be considered the resurgence. I've been a fan of Rocket's since in the day but I always felt that he wasn't being used well enough. He might be now. Dudes in the video game Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and I was over at the Target the other day and saw a Guardians Of The Galaxy Marvel Universe action figure set. which blew my melon. I didn't buy it. The piece was like Twenty Two bucks. Since R.R is the only one of the group that I want I'd essentially be dropping the chavo on him and I like him but not that much. Plus he made an appearance on the Disney Avenger cartoon. He had a few lines which was pretty cool. R.R even went one on one with The Hulk and did alright for a quick before Hulk got hold of him and squeezed him hard enough that he started making raccoon sounds.. I think it'd be cool if they spun him off into some sort of all ages type deal, maybe a comic or a cartoon in the vein of that Krypto 'toon that they had a few years back. Who knows if they will. A comic seems possible. It's probably not too expensive to get something like that off the ground and see if it sticks.. ...

Kat Dennings Gif

Well, I've always liked me some Kat Dennings and it's nice to see her do something positive with what nature gave her. It's short too. Like under a minute. Man, I forgot how racist of a character The Frito Bandito was. I guess I shouldn't have considering that he is like 100% on the racist side but still I had forgotten. His accent was a little funny though. I can see how the fools who created him thought that he might have been a good idea. I bet that he sold a lot of Fritos. I wouldn't be surprised if the agency behind the Bandito got themselves a nice little bonus come Christmas time. Anyhoo, I took the commercial and chopped it down to the funniest parts and added a funky little beat in the back. It's kind of fun for about the minute it'll take you to listen to it. Enjoy.. It's maybe the best of all the Minimate vehicles to come out so far. The Speed Racer cars are cool and if they ever came out with the long rumored Enterprise it might have some serious competition but out of all the things to come out so far, it's the coolest. I only read the first book after I had seen the first season and that didn't spoil my enjoyment at all. In fact I think that if I hadn't seen the show there is a very good chance that I might not have enjoyed the book at all. It's quite complicated and without the visuals of the TV show to fall back on in my memories I prolly would have been totally lost. It's a tough call. I think that I will wait on watching it and go at the second novel all on my lonesome. It's going to be a journey. I don't really read this swords and fantasy type stuff. It wasn't all that good mind you but I did spend hours playing it and that has to count for something. I used to like how you would fall down into these holes (you were always falling into holes. E.T's turf was full of dangerous ditches) and find these wilted flowers that you could use your healing powers on to revive. I liked doing that. I wasn't great at video games so raising plant life from the dead was one of the few things that I could do in my burgeoning gamer career. I would fall into the holes on purpose just so that I could reincarnate the flowers. I was a dork like that. Later in life I was a member of Future Farmers and I like to think that maybe E.T The Video Game had something to do with it but more likely it was just that the Agriculture Dept spent a lot of time outside during class and I liked that more then sitting at desk with a pencil. ...

Japanese Death Proof Poster

...

Skirt Push-Ups

Hey, here is a gif of Kim Kardashian doing push ups in a tight skirt. It's a fairly rare occurance actually which saddens me. We intended to see The Dragon Tattoo movie but I wasn't in the mood for a two and a half hour joint. Who is? Movies are just too damn long. That's my main beef with them. Length. Anyway, we went to see that movie but instead saw Marky Mark's latest joint Contraband. It wasn't all that bad really. I was pleasantly surprised by the actual quality of the movie. I expected it to be more action oriented like Armored but it was more of a serious minded crime film with some action elements like The Inside Man or Departed, both of which are better than this movie if you hadn't seen them yet. The deal is that Marky was like the greatest smuggler of all time but has since gone legit and become a family man. That is until his doofus brother in law gets involved with a real grimy Giovanni Ribisi who plays the kind of crook that will burn down your house and kill your wife to get his money, if you know what I'm sayin'. So Marky's brother in law gets in deep with the Ribisi crew which forces Marky out of retirement for one last run. It sounds easy but since this is a movie it gets real complicated real fast. With trips to Panama and gunfights with the cops or whatever. Ben Foster is also in the movie as Marky's best pal and hetero life mate. (Foster does look a little fruity in his construction boss jacket but that avenue is never explored) Foster is a real good actor and he always manages to bring a certain gravitas to small roles. He does that again here. I like me some Ben Foster. Not in a gay way though. That avenue has never been explored. Contraband is a decent Saturday afternoon flick. Not a main event winner like The Departed but better than Armored (i don't know why that stupid movie is stuck in my head) or the prequal to Death Race if not the original remake with Jason Stratham behind the wheel. If you want to see Contraband do so with the blessing of ISR. I give it a thumbs up. Not the Fonzie style thumbs ...

Kick Butt Like The NWO

Remember when Hall and Nash seemed like the coolest dudes on Earth? Me too. It was a weird time for cool. I like how they are super rebellious but totally tuck their t-shirts into their jeans. I scanned this out of an old issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated that I found in my garage. It was from a NWO merchandise add. Yes! You too can own that little bitty belt that Nash is holding as well as the poorly fitted snap back hat that he has on his greasy head. ...
