Hey folks. Back again. Yep, so anyway, I think that the show came together pretty good this week overall. So, let's see what's going on here, story wise.. The ship is still in THE VOID, Iceberg 13 is still down in the hold moping. That leaves Engineer Emily to helm the ship and the show. She's in a little bit over head as her programming is based in Engineering and DJ'ing, not being a boss. She does well though.

After awhile Iceberg emerges and takes control of the vessel. Hilarity ensues.. Music wise there is some Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Cibo Matto, MF Doom, Scott Steiner with the greatest interview of ALL THE TIMES!, Dr. Octagon and toward the end Mike O'connell chimes in with Asian Baby.. Good stuff and good times to be had...

Anyhow, as always thanks for taking the time to listen, I appreciate it. Really do. Do something good for yourself while your at it. Go take a walk or something. Take your dog out. Hey kids, this week the bleakness of THE VOID continues. Iceberg is in seclusion, deep in the hold leaving Engineer Emily alone to do the show. That's not the worst thing. Emily isn't half the talker that Iceberg is so the show is short on Jibba-Jabba and long on tunes. We got some EPMD, Some Def Squad, Redman, K-Solo, Special Ed, The V.A Players, and a little bit of Macho Man Savage and Jake The Snake Roberts thrown in, just for kicks, ya know?

It's a good show, real good music wise if you ask me but I'm a bit biased. IDK, if I was you, and I know I aint but if I was, I'd take the time and listen. I mean, come on..? What else are you doing right now? Nada, huh? Leave it playing and open a new tab or something. Better yet, download it to your MP3 device and go for a walk. Do something good for yourself..

Scott Valid On Conan The Cimmerian, Action Figs And Whatnot..

       I love Conan. The Cimmerian, not The Barbarian. In other words, for those not in the Hyperborean know, I’m a fan of Robert E. Howard’s archetypal character from the pages of 1930s pulp fiction, not Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic character from the 1980’s silver screen.

    I can relate to Howard’s Conan—brooding, angst ridden, nihilistic, self-taught, socially awkward, a loner—except in Conan’s case he solves his irritations and frustrations by smiting lesser foes. In my case, I just sit at the keyboard and cry.

     Now, I don’t collect action figures, though I admire people who do. If I had more time, energy, and expendable income, I’d definitely collect action figures. And comic books. And vinyl records. But I don’t. If I did collect action figures though, a lot of them would be pro wrestlers and comic book characters. And Conan.

Awhile back I noticed that McFarlane Toys had put out some great Conan figures, and one in particular caught my eye. In the original REH stories, Conan progresses over the course of his ‘career’ from the ranks of wandering cutpurse all the way to reluctant King of Aquilonia. Becoming king is, at first, all fine and good for Conan, but ultimately he finds it boring and feels constrained by the title, and the best McFarlane figure of the bunch—the aptly titled ‘King Conan of Aquilonia’—captures the bored, stewing king in all his glory.

Sitting on his throne, slumped down, his frowning head perched in his hand, his war helmet unused and gathering dust at his feet, this action figure is the epitome of the dreary Cimmerian wanderer, whose only hope in the wake of his glorious career is to live out a gloomy eternity in Crom’s grey realm. There is no reassuring Valhalla waiting for Conan in the next life, only more irritation and boredom. Poor guy.

Last Christmas, my wife wanted some suggestions for what my four year old daughter could get me as a present. I recommended they check out the ‘King Conan of Aquilonia’ action figure, just on the off chance it didn’t cost too much. Ends up they go for around one hundred bucks new and fifty bucks used. Figures. Grr. Nothing ahead but Crom’s grey realm indeed!

Hey flesh bags.. This week Iceberg 13 and the co-host with the co-most Engineer Emily enter a bleak sector of space known as THE VOID. It's ages and ages of nothing.. Not that most stretches of space are much more then long stretches of nothing, but this happens to be a particularly long stretch of nothing. Think like, months and months of travel at post-light speed levels.The tension is thick and depression begins to set in. Emily and Iceberg are at each other's throats for the first time ever.

This week's podcast features some 3rd Bass, Joy Division, Showbiz And AG, company Flow and for a friend of mine from the depths of the SCL Basement, some Aesop Rock. My man Nyquil loves him some Aesop Rock. On the real though, who doesn't?

Oh man, man oh man. I'd never really seen Macho in his pre WWF days. Dude was like a serial killer. Like a crazy wino who roams around and slays people whilst drunk. Then later, when he's sobered up he doesn't remember a thing and thinks that everyone is lying to him about what he did the night before. Like he's being totally set up. Framed by the fuzz.

Listen to his voice. Ugh, he probably wore it out last night at an Allman Brothers concert. He was in the 10th row screaming like crazy for them to play Midnight Rider. (that's HIS shit, ya know?) Dude was a unpolished diamond at this point just waiting to be polished and put on display. Couple years later Vince is gonna bring him to the WWF and the rest is history..

hey kids, thanks for dropping by. This week on ISR Radio Iceberg and Emily tour space, read some ROBOT NEWS!! and play a bunch of really cool hip-hop tunes. Some Master Ace, The Black Sheep, Showbiz and AG and MF Doom. Good stuff this time around. i think this show came together pretty well.

Listen out for Randy Macho Man Savage in there too.. He and Mene Gene make a brief appearance around the time you hear some Eric B and Rakim. That' s never a bad thing.

I appreciate you dropping by and for listening. Seems like we're picking up some momentum and that thrills Iceberg to no end. I think that means that he will be forever thrilled. Thrilled 4LIFE as it were...

I like Iron Man but am sort of sick of all the IM Minimates. For the most part they are just random suits of armor. I have to admit that I'm not as up on the armored villains as I prolly should be but, whatever.

These ones are all right though. In case you couldn't fig it out the girl there is Scarlett Johanson as The Black Widow. She sort of looks like Giganta to me but without her belly showing...

The mates are exclusive to some comic con in Chicago, The C2E2 event. i don't know, prolly not worth the trip but if you happen to be there and get an extra pair you can always give em' to me...

MINOWA-MAN'S Belt Of Paper

Look at that. Minowa-Man made his own belt for winning the Super Hulk Tournament. That's rad ass right? Plus it's awesome looking, PLUS he misspelled HULK, H-L-U-K for some reason. Cuz he's cool would be my guess but it could be because he's dumb. I've never met him. I'd like to though. It might be awkward. I don't reckon that his English is any better then my Japanese. That doesn't mean that we couldn't have fun together just that we'd have to put some effort into our burgeoning friendship.
